What: President Barack Obama has recently pushed for a new economic stimulus package called the Homeowner Affordability and Stability Plan. What’s even better about this is that the money is going to families in need, not big corporations.

Who: The money will be used to aid homeowners on the brink of foreclosure. This is an essential effort to help people “hang in there” while other efforts in his stimulus plan are aimed at creating new jobs. Until then, struggling homeowners can pay their bills with the temporary aid from the government.

When: Barack Obama has proposed the bill to Congress on February 18^th, 2009.

How: Obama plans to offer approximately 5 million homeowners refinance their homes if they receive their mortgages from companies like Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac and to help cut mortgage rates. He also plans to persuade lenders to modify terms of loans on the verge of default and foreclosure.

Why: To help the Economy and oh what was that other reason??????????? KEEP PEOPLE FROM LOSING THEIR HOMES!
